Angst, so long as there's a happy ending. Intricate plots. Improbable disastrous situations (i.e. Buffy and Spike trapped in a basement during a hurricane). Buffy dumping Riley. Any story that tries to make sense of the whole soul/lack-of-soul thing. And smut. Smut is always a good thing. Give me Buffy and Spike trapped in a basement pondering the nature of the soul before Buffy realizes how wrong Riley is for her and then has sex with Spike, and I'll be very, very happy. ;)

Dislikes:

Character death - except Riley; you can kill him. Unhappy endings in general. Excessive sappiness, unless it's something cute like a holiday story. Song lyrics being used as dialogue; I don't mind a character thinking of the lyrics, or being inspired by a song, or actually quoting a song ("How's that song go? 'The world is a vampire?'" said Spike, with a smirk.) but please no turning songs into conversations.

I'll read most pairings, but my favorite is Buffy/Spike. Fine with B/A, B/L, C/D, X/Female, A/C, A/W, B/G, non/multi. I'm fine with G to NC-17 and song fic. I'm very picky about correct word usage. I can offer excellent advice on pagan/wiccan/magickal themes as well.

Dislikes:

I do NOT like slash, as in m/m or f/f fiction. Please do not send me this. However if it is mild and an important context of the story (ie: an issue of dominance) rather than the pivot of the story then it's okay. I do not care for the more unusual pairings such as W/S, B/D, but will read them. Basically, send it. If I do not like the plot line, I'll let you know, tell you what I found so far, and suggest you ask someone else to finish it.

Riley!!! (15X) I dislike the ‘soddin’ bastard’ because he’s about everything you could hate in a Buffy-boyfriend. Spike and Buffy is preferrable, but most any couples are cool. Funny stuff, angst. Details are awesome, stand alones and chapter stories. I love plots that twist and turn but seem real (well, real according to BTVS at least). Evil and sinister is cool, because Spike is well, evil. He doesn't have a soul, but he does love Buffy.

Character developement (don't we all), angst is okay as long as it's not too whiny, Buffy getting past what her friends will think. Doesn't have to be action packed, although I do enjoy a good fight scene - especially where Spike and Buffy are fighting really well together. Also, funnily enough, songfics - but only where the lyrics have a real connection to what the characters are thinking and feeling. Naked Spike is fun too.

Lots of experience workshopping fiction of all sorts, really into giving constructive feedback and specific suggestions. Good eye for continuity (but not so much with AtS). Ten whole, actual human years of editing for a living (50+ now-published manuscripts). Pretty useful in the whole grammar, style, usage arena. (Why does everyone use "hoard" when they mean "horde"? Why is "it's" invariably used where "its" is correct?)
